What is Tomorrow?

What is tomorrow?
Is it today's epilogue
Or the prologue of a new beginning?

What was yesterday?
A memory in the mind's eye
Or a window into the lessons we've learned?

What is three months from now?
An unknown or undetermined factor
Or is the ending we've looked towards since the beginning?

How about two years ago?
Is a fading unfinished novel
or a scrap just left to trash?

What will today be?
Just another chapter of meaningless wandering
Or will you make it the prologue to your life?

And what will that make tomorrow?
An unfinished sentence in a diary
Or will it give birth to the flame of your soul?

Shaded

Twisting fabrics running
On the point of all humanity
Wondering as the raining
Tears of Earth's new virtues
Cascade unto the world
Is it worth the toil and trouble?
Or is it simply doubling the effort
For the same result?

I wonder frequently
By the moon's pale light
Stolen in the night from the sun
Like a thief for the precious jewel
That soothes the touch of evil
Is it right or wrong?
Or is there no true balance
between Good and Evil
Black and White?
Or are there simply Grays
Of chaste corruption
Floating in a sea of clear
Between the Dark and Light?

It makes you wonder
From the thoughts pacing through your mind
Like a thundering torrent
Where time is but a meaningless number
About life...

What is it truly?
A thought, a color, a wonder?
Is there a distinction between life and death?
Like the lines of a page of your life
That scribes the troubles in your mind
As you wander and wonder through times
About why
And what is a life?
A black, a white?
Or simply a different gray?
As the days progress
Does it really matter?
As the ink on the page is smeared
By the replenishing rains
That mark the end of a new beginning
Of that which is life
Is this what the path that is shaded and spoken
in verses of ink will become?
Or is it just imagination personified?
